This course will define roles and responsibilities of the advanced EMT, EMS systems, medical and legal considerations, EMS communication, common medical terminology. Students will practice intermediate skills such as airway management and ventilation, management of shock and general patient assessment and management.

Advanced EMT Clinical Preceptorship

Students will practice EMT-I skills in a variety of settings including the operating room, intensive care unit, the emergency department and with an Advanced Life Support provider.

EMT Basic - Prerequisite

In order to start this career major the student must have successfully completed the Emergency Medical Technician -Basic Career Major.
