Up one level- Financial Management & Investment Planning
- This course builds on the Business and Personal Finance and will provide students with the ability to recognize functions and concepts of sources and uses of funds needed in financial administration of corporate financial management. The structure and operation of securities markets, portfolio management and capital market theory will be identified and applied to diagnose and solve financial and operational problems. Students will interpret financial data to develop short-and long-term budgetary plans. Students will engage in solving real business problems with the importance of technology and globalization in the modern practice of finance.
- Finance Capstone
- Internships, project-based instruction and teamwork will be utilized to reinforce skills obtained within any career major in the Finance Cluster. Students will make final preparations for industry certifications as they master outlined competencies. Students will select from various project options to finalize portfolios that highlight skills and certifications. Students may also undertake special projects, cross-train or participate in workplace learning opportunities to enhance skills in accordance with industry demands.
- Banking & Financial Services
- This course builds on Fundamentals of Administrative Technologies and will provide students with the ability to recognize principles and practices of banking and credit in the United States. Students will calculate math concepts needed in banking and credit. Students consider technological advances and their impact on the banking industry. Critical thinking exercises engage students in research and interaction with community financial institutions. Students will also engage in solving real business problems with the importance of technology and globalization in the modern practice of finance.
- Business & Personal Finance
- This course builds on the Fundamentals of Administrative Technologies I & II and will provide students with the skills to manage personal finances, identify the characteristics of effective business financial goals, examine the organization and activities of commercial banks and other financial institutions, and provide knowledge for understanding of the company organization of an insurance company and the operation of technology and financial management in a global setting. Students will examine case studies for personal financial planning and utilize teamwork strategies for thinking critically in the workplace. Students will examine the financial aspect of business and analyze financial records for business activities. Banks and other financial institutions, business insurance, and technology in the global setting will be topics for case studies and teamwork projects involving critical thinking.
