Very few jobs in this country have more impact on peoples' lives, dreams, and ambitions than those in education.  Teachers, through their daily work with students, motivate and inspire America's young people to set and achieve lofty goals.

As you think back over your life, who has motivated you to get where you are today? If you're like many others, the response is often "a teacher." Other than parents, teachers probably have the most impact on whether or not young people succeed in their chosen careers.

And, in the case of former CareerTech students, that statement is especially true.  In case after case, those students report that it was the CareerTech teacher who spent extra time with them in classrooms, in labs, and in CareerTech student organization activities. The CareerTech teacher challenged and inspired them to succeed.

America needs you. The demand is startling. In Oklahoma alone, about 200 CareerTech teachers are needed each year just to replace those who are retiring from the profession.  And, as the student population and the demand for CareerTech programs continue to soar, so will the demand for CareerTech teachers.

Because of additional responsibilities of sponsoring a CareerTech student organization and participating in regular professional development opportunities, CareerTech teachers receive additional pay.

Just as those diverse CareerTech teachers of yesterday made such a big difference in the students who are the leaders today, you have the opportunity to have the same impact on the lives of tomorrow's leaders. Future teachers from diverse cultural, ethnic, and career backgrounds are needed now.
